Wish list
We have several ideas to make even greater Super Sessions, for which the necessary tools currently are not available. We've long retired our programming careers and have no intention of returning there. If you are capable and interested, please consider our following wishes:
- a script (probably best implemented as a Session Rule) that returns the name (as defined in the Driver Setup Rule) of the currently selected locomotive. This would allow us to provide contextual information – for example, a subtitles explaining why a train is waiting – for the train that the user is currently tracking.
- a script (probably best implemented as a Driver command) to allow selection of any locomotive's specific cabin cameras (meaning it'd need to be able to list all of a session's locomotives, and for each, list all its cams)
- Variations of the Driver command script "Guards Whistle Near" <kuid2:56603:100062:1> with different whistle sounds. Probably best implemented as a single Driver command with a sub-menu listing each sound. (Take care that none of the samples start with any pause, or the user experience would be that a train starts moving before the whistle is heard…)
- A script, implemented as a Session Rule, that allows comparing session variables, would make a lot more dynamic control possible. Right now, you can only do "if value of SVar"== some number/string. But what if you can do "if value of SVar" == "value of other SVar"? (And obviously not just ==, but also things like >==, <==, or even "of class" or "in range" and such)
- It would be a tremendous help if the script "Skip if session-variable" (<kuid2:160293:101014:3>, by author trev999) could be upgraded to list more SVars in its menu.
- Regarding seasonality:
- A script (probably best implemented as a Session Rule) that allows defining which sky to show. (This would make it possible to have an appropriate sky be shown for randomly selected seasons, thus improving on the 'seasonality experience'.)
- A script (probably best implemented as a Session Rule) that allows dynamically changing the snow line. (Would allow randomly selected winter to actually show the route's snow.)
- a mechanism to define the range of individual cameras
- would be nice if the vendor would start taking bug reports serious
